Was there anything that we spoke in his absence but neglected to speak in his presence that will presumably damage his reputation?
If yes, perhaps one should speak out so that whoever slanders is to be exposed.
If not, then D can rest assured we have not slandered him.
Now are we not to talk about anyone who's not in presence?
