PostSubject: The Message of the Covenant   Sat Jul 15, 2017 4:31 am

Have to share this which I have only skimmed through but find to be a very interesting read..

For example:
- temple of Solomon as the abomination because the specs and method by which it was built broke many commands, including idolatry, counterfeit objects, facing the wrong direction, built by hands of foreign nations, walls should be silver not gold, and David's original materials were taken to build Solomon's palace
- rock of salvation, foundation stone, cornerstone, stumbling block all referring to the stone tablets, also called the Decalogue which means "ten words", and this word became flesh, hence the law was nailed to the cross

Some random thoughts:
Uncut stones: Jehovah Jireh. Men simply put them together to build an altar.
Altar: a place for corporate worship.

Cut stones: Human effort with the thought that they are helping Yahweh to make things better.
Temple made of cut stones i.e. Solomon's temple: Yahweh does not need one but He allowed one. I guess to show how futile it is to come to worship Him by human effort.

Solomon's temple: A type for institutional church. No need for further elaboration here.

Temple: Is Yahshua. He is the head and believers are the body.

It makes this passage very interesting:
The Jews then said to him, "What sign have you to show us for doing this?" Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." The Jews then said, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?" But he spoke of the temple of his body.

Will see if more to come.

Hebrews 9:4 all translations seem to agree that the jar of manna and Aaron's staff were indeed within the ark.
How long is Aaron's staff?
The following quoted from
A cubit (six hand’s [each 4 fingers wide] breadths or the distance from the tip of the extended middle finger to the elbow) is approx 18 inches (46 cms). The length of the Ark was 2.5 cubits or 45 inches (114cms). The diagonal across corners would be 2.9 cubits or 52.5 inches (133 cms). Allowing for an unknown wall thickness and a depth of 1.5 cubits or 27 inches (69 cms) we could guess that the Ark could accommodate a rod of approx 2.6 cubits or 48 inches (122 cms). In old measurements that would be a maximum length of four feet.
How is it possible unless Aaron's staff is less than 4 feet long?

Would Hebrews 9:4 have misinterpreted the following verses?
Exodus 16:32-34
Numbers 17:10

Would Yahweh show His glory over a fake ark?
If 1 Kings 8:10-11 was not His glory, would Isaiah 6:1-4 be?
