If there was no Maccabees there would be no Hanukkah.
There would not be a Jewish nation where the Messiah started preaching the gospel. There would not be a Jewish Bethlehem where the Messiah was born.
The Jews celebrate Hanukkah like the Americans celebrate the 4th of July.

Why was the Messiah there if He would have nothing to do with it? Did the bible record that He spoke against the celebration?
